Recover a lost bib

A rider who never signed in and lost their phone can’t re-attach their bib themselves. Re-issuing clears the lost phone’s secret so they re-claim the same bib — name, route, and positions survive. (Signed-in riders recover automatically.)

Move a rider to another route

The corral reality: a rider cutting to the shorter route hands a volunteer their phone. Riders can switch twice on their own in the app; this path has no limit — it’s the escape hatch. Forward-only: past positions keep their old projection, everything from the switch projects onto the new route (the progress bar re-bases, honestly).
